In the fall of 2009, the works of the International Scientific Sessions entitled “New Studies on Machiavelli and Machiavellism. Approaches and Historiography” took place in Bucharest and Sinaia for almost three days. The sessions occurred under the aegis of The Faculty of Political Science part of the University of Bucharest and of the Institute of Political Researches and International Relations of the Romanian Academy.
This volume brings together contributions of scholars involved in Machiavellian studies coming from many countries, so we can enumerate here professors and researchers from the USA, Italy, France, Russia, Hungary and Romania which had presented their papers in Bucharest and Sinaia (Cumpătul). Therefore, a significant part of this volume consists of “the papers of Symposium”.
